Paramount Pictures released the official trailer for Scream 7 on 30 October 2025. It was the film's first full trailer, ahead of a Super Bowl spot and a final trailer in February 2026. Kevin Williamson directs and co-wrote the script. Neve Campbell returns as Sidney Prescott, with Isabel May as her daughter, Tatum, and Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers. The film opened in UK cinemas on 26 February 2026.
First Impressions
The mood is grim and personal. This plays less like a whodunit than a home invasion story. The jokes stay in the opening scene. Sidney sounds tired, angry and protective rather than frightened.
What the Trailer Reveals
It opens at Stu Macher's old house, now a "psycho killer B&B". A couple laugh at an animatronic Ghostface before the real one appears. Sidney then takes a call. "Hello, Sidney. Did you miss me?" the voice asks. When she mocks his voice changer, he replies, "Oh, I'm not hiding, Sidney. Not this time." Mother and daughter crawl through a passage inside the walls as his knife punches through. Tatum says, "I want to be a fighter, like you." Gale arrives with Chad. Sidney later talks Tatum through shooting him "to the right of the door". The cut ends with Ghostface pouring petrol inside the Macher house. "I'm gonna burn it all down," he says.
Music and Sound
Sound design does most of the work. A ringing phone recurs throughout. A sharp sting greets the animatronic, and the audio drops away as Ghostface turns to camera. Each knife strike through the wall lands on a hard cut. The closing line, "This is gonna be fun," sounds like Stu Macher.
Most Memorable Moment
The best image is Tatum aiming a pistol at a blank wall while her mother tells her where to fire. It flips the usual Scream setup. For once, Sidney is the voice on the phone.
Trailer Verdict
It gives away too much, including a late set piece and the fiery climax. The nods to Stu's house pile up too. Still, putting Sidney's family at the centre gives this sequel a clearer hook than the last two entries offered.
